Muskoka Sharpshooters Join the ORHL for 2026/27
The Muskoka Sharpshooters are excited to announce we will compete in the Ontario Rep Hockey League (ORHL) for the 2026/27 season. Our U13 program is confirmed, and U11 Boys and U11 Girls teams are in the works, with more details coming soon.
Confirmed Team: U13 (2014/2015)
Our U13 team will deliver a development-first experience built around strong coaching, high-tempo practices, and consistent improvement on and off the ice.
Why ORHL
The ORHL offers a competitive league structure with standings and player stats, plus showcase weekends and the flexibility to add exhibitions and tournaments that support development.
Season & Commitment
The season runs September to April with a consistent weekly rhythm:

2 on-ice practices (morning + evening/weekend)

1 off-ice session (strength & conditioning)
Showcases (Regular Season): ORHL showcase weekends are where regular-season games are played. Expect three major showcase weekends, typically Friday–Saturday or Saturday- Sunday, with four regular-season games (often requiring at least one overnight stay, depending on game times).
Tournaments: Separate from showcases. The team is targeting two-three tournament appearances during the season (additional optional tournaments may be added).
Travel Note: Most travel is concentrated on weekends, with a target of roughly 5–6 total event weekends across the season.
Player Development
At Sharpshooters, development is the point. We want players leaving every practice with something they can use in their very next shift. Sessions are fast, focused, and built around real game habits/skating efficiency, puck protection, quick decisions, and competing hard.

Lots of reps with detailed coaching feedback (skills + skating)

Game-like drills and small-area battles to build hockey IQ

Video clips to show “what good looks like” and speed up learning

Off-ice training to build strength, speed, and durability
For U13, we teach body contact the right way: angling, positioning, and safe puck separation, confident, controlled, and always respectful.
